PART 4: HEROES OF PROPAGANDA AND FICTION

Only three books of the Bible bear women’s names: Ruth, Esther, and Judith. All three may be examples of historical fiction. Whether fictional or real, who were those heroic women? What do you know about Daniel’s Susanna, Maccabees’ unnamed mother of seven sons, or the women in Tobit? This fall Brother Loren will offer a course titled Heroes of Propaganda and Fiction, a look at the women of those books and more.

The course is open to all men and women who want to deepen their appreciation of the role of woman in the story of salvation. Participants will need a Bible (with books such as Judith, Tobit, 2 Maccabees, and Daniel 13) and should be prepared to reflect on relevant passages ahead of time. The class will meet once a week for five 90-minute sessions. Participants are asked to be on time. There is no fee. Free will offerings are accepted.
