RETREAT DESCRIPTION: Please join us for a time of journaling, rest and retreat. Using a variety of writing techniques and exercises geared for novices and seasoned journal writers, we’ll uncover where we truly are with ourselves and with God. Small group sharing, quiet time on the beautiful retreat house grounds, opportunities for group contemplative prayer times, and
meeting with a spiritual director will be offered.
BIOGRAPHY
JO-ELLEN DARLING began to journal at age 30 after an intense episode of spiritual awakening. Decades later, her journaling continues to be an amazing tool that accompanies her inner
journey of reflection, self-knowledge, creative expression, and continued spiritual growth.
She received Certificates in Spiritual Formation from the Kairos School of Spiritual Formation in 2009 and 2010, and later completed several spiritual formation classes at Moravian Theological Seminary.
Jo-Ellen has been doing retreats and spiritual writing workshops since 2013. In December of 2021, Jo-Ellen released Journaling as a Spiritual Path: A Journey to Your True Self and the Divine (Wild Ginger Press). Her book is available on Amazon as well as at St. Francis Retreat
House.

Registration donation: $175 per person onsite and $340 for a couple onsite. Virtual registration (we need a minimum of four virtual participants): $80.

August 12-13: “Pope Francis’ Evolutionary and Revolutionary Vision and Spirituality” with Fr. Kevin Nadolski, OSFS. [two days].
Description:
Fr. Kevin will offer a portrait of Pope Francis during his first ten years with us as
Bishop of Rome and pope of the universal Church. He will explore Pope Francis’
evolutionary and revolutionary vision and spirituality expressed through his words
and actions. Fr. Kevin will highlight Pope Francis’ message to the Catholic Church
and to the world community through his encyclical letters.
Biography:
Father Kevin Nadolski, OSFS, a priest with the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. A graduate of Temple University, Catholic University of America, and DeSales School of Theology, Fr. Kevin holds degrees in journalism, divinity, and education administration. He also holds a Ph.D. from Fordham University in administration and supervision of education.
Fr. Kevin has worked as a teacher and principal in Catholic high schools and also served as vocation director, director of the seminary, director of development and communications, and assistant provincial for the Oblates in Wilmington, DE. He presently serves at DeSales University as vice president for mission and assistant professor of education.

October 6-8, 2023: “A Franciscan Weekend Retreat” with Fr. Greg Friedman, OFM. [three days].
“Pope Francis’ Encyclical Fratelli Tutti through Franciscan Eyes” Fr. Greg will explore the content and meaning of Pope Francis’ recent encyclical for its Franciscan elements and its harmony with the Franciscan spiritual tradition and our moral vision.
Biography Fr. Greg Friedman, OFM is a Franciscan priest of Our Lady of Guadalupe Province, with headquarters in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the province and as Communications Director. Fr. Greg is best-known for his video reflections on the Sunday Gospels at the U.S. Bishops’ website. He has worked as magazine editor, video producer, radio host, and is the author of books and articles on Catholic life. He is also a poet whose work has been published in anthologies and online journals. Fr. Greg has led pilgrims in the Holy Land and to places in Rome and Assisi connected to St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi.

ONSITE PRICING INCLUDES: Private room with bath, all meals, and materials. Please notify us with any accessibility needs or special dietary requirements. The fee for onsite participation for this retreat is $285, for couples $550, and the fee for virtual participation is $80.

We ask for a $35 deposit when you register for one of these sponsored retreats. This deposit will be returned if a person cancels early, but it will not be returned if the cancellation is within the last ten days before the retreat begins.
