PART 5: RELATIVES AND COMPANIONS OF JESUS

Who were Jesus’ sisters? What do you know about Mary Magdalene? What does
the Bible say about Jesus’ mother? This February and March Brother Loren will offer a
course titled Relatives and Companions of Jesus, a look at many of the women
mentioned in the gospels.

The course is open to all men and women who want to deepen their appreciation of
the role of woman in the story of salvation. Participants will need a Bible and should be
prepared to reflect on relevant passages ahead of time. The class will meet once a
week for four to five 90-minute sessions. There is no fee. Free will offerings are

Loren Connell, OFM, is a Franciscan friar and Catholic priest who has ministered in schools, hospitals,
and parishes in Indiana, Louisiana, Ohio, and Michigan. Loren has a passion for sharing his love for
Scripture with others. He lives and ministers in retirement at St. Francis Retreat House.
