St. Francis of Assisi bequeathed to the Church a lasting memorial of the humble birth of Jesus with the 1223 ceremony on an Italian hillside called Greccio. There it was that Francis and his brothers dramatized the story of the Christmas event with liturgical prayer, song, and a visual re-presentation of Mary and Joseph around the manger where Jesus lay. This evening we will recount this story with a Franciscan Candlelight Lessons and Carols. We will begin with a Christmas village where you can enjoy music, crafts, decorate a tree, and eat cookies. Please bring your creche for a blessing. Families are encouraged to join us for this Franciscan celebration.
Our Monday night mini-retreats are three-hour sessions that include a full meal (6:00 p.m.), presentation, prayer, and discussion (7:00 p.m.) and night prayer and blessing (9:00 p.m.)
