Self Compassion and the Gift of Hospitality

How can we expect to offer the hospitality we are called to extend to others if we deny it to ourselves?  Sr. Joyce Rupp’s Boundless Compassion offers insights into embracing self-compassion as part of our spiritual growth.  This morning’s reflection on self-compassion will explore ways to extend hospitality to our own selves as preparation for receiving and sharing the one true gift of Christmas: God’s incarnate forgiveness and truth: Jesus.

Presenter:  Joan M Doherty, MA. is a trained Boundless Compassion Facilitatorsince 2018.  Joan holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Counseling from Moravian Theological Seminary and is a PA Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor and Fellow of American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy.  She has recently retired from 30+ years of full-time practice in the Lehigh Valley.  She is a parishioner at the Church of the Assumption, BVM in Bethlehem, PA.
